"Сумма" и Veolia создадут коммунального оператора для работы в Москве и Петербурге
President of Summa Group Alexander Vinokurov and Chief Executive of the French holding company Veolia Environment (Veolia) Antoine Frérot signed an agreement on Thursday during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on the creation of a municipal operator in Russia.
The new municipal operator will work in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Summa Group plans to use Veolia’s experience in water constructing and operating as well as wastewater disposal systems. The partnership agreement also stipulates that Veolia will supply equipment for waste removal and recycling.
“Per this agreement, Summa Group will be the exclusive business partner of Veolia holding company within the Russian Federation territory. We will start with solid waste management. At the same time, we will develop water service systems, and later – heating and power systems,” Summa Group president Vinokurov commented to ITAR-TASS.
According to Mr. Vinokurov, the volume of investment under the agreement with Veolia reaches “hundreds of millions of dollars.”
Summa Group plans to launch the project in St. Petersburg with the construction of two waste recycling plants and the building of an operator for the removal of solid waste.
