Yakutsk Fuel and Energy Company, OJSC has begun accepting documents from students who are graduating from the 9th and 11th grades at the Kysyl-Syr secondary (general education) school, as part of a program to finance the education of students at technical high schools and institutes.
Resolving staffing issues is one of YATEK's priorities, because a big focus today is on implementing a program to train young professionals. "We can already see the interim results of YATEK's educational program. Currently nine students (two of whom were raised in the Vilyui orphanage) are studying at Ammosov Northeast Federal University and Irkutsk State Technical University, as well as at the colleges in Mirny and Yakutsk," noted Zairbek Yusupov, YATEK's CEO.
"These kids need to be brought into the company's industrial operations right from their university classes. This is why we invite students who are already here on internships and externships to continue their employment with the company according to their field of training," emphasized Zairbek Yusupov.
This program is scheduled to run from 2011 to 2016. In order for students to participate they must provide, for example, documents confirming the applicant's participation in academic meets and competitions, in addition to the mandatory documents (application forms, photographs, certifications, and their scores on the Unified State Examination). The company's personnel department will accept documents until Aug. 1, 2012. Six applications have already been received.
