Болельщики «Зенита» смогут бесплатно смотреть все игры клуба
Summa Group will be acting as the broadcast sponsor for all of Zenit’s games in the Russian Football Premier League 2014/2015 season. Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region residents will be able to tune in to all the matches on the Saint Petersburg TV channel. Home games will be broadcasted live and away games will be recorded and aired. Broadcast rights were acquired by Liga-TV, a subsidiary of the Russian Football Premier League.
As the new football season was about to start, Saint Petersburg almost missed out on free broadcasting of Zenit’s matches which sparked a public backlash. The team’s star fans (Michael Boyarsky, Oleg Basilashvili, Sergey Migitsko and others) wrote an open letter to acting Governor Georgiy Poltavchenko asking him to resolve the issue.
Summa Group stepped in with its solution: “We couldn’t sit back knowing how serious it would be for the fans to miss out on broadcasts of their favorite team”.
It’s worth pointing out that Saint Petersburg is one of the three regions in which Summa plays an active role. In 2011-2013, Intex (a part of the Group) reconstructed the historic appearance and interiors of the Naval Cathedral of Saint Nicholas in Kronstadt. As part of the construction of Saint Petersburg’s energy ring, GlobalElektroServis (part of the Group) became the first company in Russia to implement a unique engineering project, laying a 330 kV underwater cable over the bottom of the Gulf of Finland.
