24 december 2013
Port Petrovsk LLC (part of Summa Group) and Commercial Port of Makhachkala (MMTP) Federal State Unitary Enterprise signed a memorandum of intentions. It provides for increase in cargo throughput volumes, as well as in quality and competitiveness of services delivered by Makhachkala’s port.

Port Petrovsk LLC owns several land plots located in close proximity to MMTP territory. It is planned to use them for creation of new sites for storage and handling of all types of cargo, including oil products.  The company is also interested in the port infrastructure development. Besides, Port Petrovsk is ready to cooperate with MMTP in implementation of modern cargo handling technologies.

Commercial Port of Makhachkala is the only deep-water port at the Caspian Sea. In 2012 the throughput volume amounted to about 6 mln tons (including 5.3 mln tons of liquid cargo).
As a reminder, Summa Group is a shareholder of NMTP Group, uniting sea terminals in the Baltic and Black Sea basins, and also is a co-owner of Commercial Port of Vladivostok in the Pacific Ocean basin (via FESCO Group).

Summa Group is a diversified private holding with promising and dynamically developing investments in the port logistics, engineering, construction, telecommunication and oil and gas sectors. More than 10 thousand employees work for the Group companies in almost 40 regions of Russia and abroad. Ziyavudin Magomedov is the founder and shareholder of the company.
