Строители и реставраторы, восстановившие здание Большого театра, посетили репетицию гала-концерта

On Oct. 2, 2011, the builders, restorers, architects, and others who took part in the project to renovate and restore the Bolshoi Theatre had the chance to attend a rehearsal of the gala concert that will be performed at the opening of the main stage.

“This appreciative gesture from the creative artists of the Bolshoi Theater were intended to recognize the painstaking contributions of several thousand people who worked ceaselessly for many days to restore the imperial grandeur of the country’s foremost stage, as well as a thank-you to everyone who worked on this national project”, explained Mikhail Sidorov, the official representative of the general contractor in charge of the renovation and restoration of the Bolshoi Theatre and an advisor to the president of Summa Group.

“We’re grateful to the builders for their Herculean efforts and we’re happy to have our home back,” said Anatoly Iksanov, the general director of the Bolshoi Theatre.

“Being allowed to attend this rehearsal was the Bolshoi Theatre’s gift to us. Naturally not everyone who took part in the project will be able to attend the grand opening. We’re grateful to the theater for recognizing our services and giving us the honor of watching the virtuosity of the theater’s artists,” said Yelena Stepanova, the originator of the project to restore the historic building of the Bolshoi Theatre.

“Representatives of all the construction companies came to the Bolshoi Theatre yesterday. Of course, far more people worked on the project than the auditorium could accommodate. But we’re happy that so many of us could see the first rehearsal on this historic stage,” noted Gennady Pyatin, the acting director of the SUIproekt company.

The historic stage will have its grand opening on Oct. 28, 2011.
