ВМТП увеличил импорт контейнерных грузов в сентябре 2013 года на 29,6 %

Commercial Port of Vladivostok (VMTP) handled 40,933 TEU containerized cargoes in September this year, which is 9 % higher than the same period last year. The main growth factor was the increase in imports by 29.6 %.

 

The dynamic growth rate of throughput of containerized cargo in the Port in 2013 has been observable since the beginning of the third quarter. So, for July–September 2013 the Port handled 125,507 TEU. In comparison, the last year's turnover for the same period amounted to 118,850 TEU. Containers make up the primary cargo for VMTP. In the first half of 2013, their share in the total turnover of the Port amounted to more than 60 %.

 

Container handling in the Far East of Russia, according to experts, will continue to rise; VMTP strives to maintain a leading position in this market. With this in mind, the Port is upgrading its throughput capacity, optimizing the operation of its service centre, updating the fleet of cargo handling equipment, as well as actively working to attract new volumes of containerized cargoes.
