The Dutch military ship Friesland, which delivered a duplicate of the Czar Peter House located in the town of Zaandam, arrived in the Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg on September 24.
The duplicate of the House was presented to Russia within the framework of the 2013 bilateral Russian-Dutch Year. It will be installed in Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve (Moscow).
Containers holding the duplicate will be transported to Kolomenskoye by mechanical transport immediately after customs clearance procedures in St. Petersburg. The vehicles will be provided by FESCO transport group, a shareholder of which is Summa Group.
"We are delighted to have brought a duplicate of the Czar Peter House to Russian soil. He was the founder of the friendly relationship between Russia and the Netherlands. This gift is a part of our shared history," – Matthieu Borsboom, Vice Admiral of the Royal Netherlands Navy, Head of the delegation of the Netherlands under the solemn transfer of the House to Russia, stated.
The project to create a duplicate ran parallel with the restoration of the Czar Peter House in Zaandam. Works have been performed to restore the foundation, the pavilion, to replace the facade and stone masonry, climate control systems; the exhibits have been restored, as well. The works were financed by Summa Group.
