The prime minister of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Galina Danchikova, visited production facilities belonging to the Yakutsk Fuel and Energy Company, during events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the village of Kysyl-Syr and the 55th anniversary of the first commercial gas production.

During her visit, Galina Danchikova met with the company’s general director, Igor Demidov, and with the chairman of YATEC’s board of directors, Leyla Mamedzadeh. The meeting was also attended by the First Vice Speaker of the State Assembly (Il Tumen), Aleksandr Morozkin; Deputy Prime Minister Pavel Marinychev; the heads of some of the republic’s ministries and departments, and the head of the Vilyui Ulus, Dmitry Makharov.

“The leaders of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) are paying special attention to the development of the gas industry. We hope that the efforts of the government of the republic will help to bring the Yakutsk Fuel and Energy Company’s promising gas projects to fruition, and that YATEC’s management will promote the republic’s socio-economic development,” noted Prime Minister Galina Danchikova.

Igor Demidov, the general director of YATEC, announced plans to modernize the company’s production facilities. “Updated facilities will allow us to produce a local, inexpensive line of motor fuels in the republic that comply with Euro-4 and Euro-5 European standards. Therefore, we plan to fully renovate centers 1 and 2 for integrated gas processing and to construct a facility to process gas condensate using technology from the American company Petrofac,” emphasized YATEC’s general director.

“In addition, there are plans to build an energy complex in the village of Kysyl-Syr, which will include the renovation of high-voltage power lines to provide electricity to not only YATEC’s production sites but to the village as well,” noted Igor Demidov.

Mr. Demidov added that in the not so distant future, the company plans to build a plant to produce motor fuels using GTL natural gas technology.
