On Sept. 1-3, 2011 in the village of Kysyl-Syr, the Yakutsk Fuel and Energy Company celebrated the 50-year anniversary of the founding of this gas-producing village and also marked the 55th anniversary of the first commercial gas production in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Both are momentous dates for the republic’s gas industry.

The main event on the first day of the celebration was the unveiling of the new sports stadium. “We hope that this new stadium, which was built for the residents of Kiysyl-Syr, will become the center of the village’s athletic and cultural life,” noted Igor Demidov, YATEC’s general director, as he handed over the symbolic key to the stadium to the village head, Tatyana Dendya, while onlookers applauded.
YATEC financed and built the 1,000-seat stadium in Kysyl-Syr as part of its program of social investment.
Among those expressing gratitude to the Yakutsk Fuel and Energy Company on behalf of the village residents were Pavel Marinychev, the deputy prime minister of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia); Dmitry Makharov, the head of the Vilyui Ulus municipal district; and Tatyana Dendya, the head of the village of Kysyl-Syr.

“On behalf of the government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), I would like to emphasize just how much the people from the Yakutsk Fuel and Energy Company have done for this village and to express our enormous gratitude for the financial support and hard work they have put into the construction of this sports facility. This wonderful stadium that has been given to the residents of this village will be a place of recreation that will bear witness to new athletic achievements for many years to come,” emphasized Pavel Marinychev.
