Компания «ГлобалЭлектроСервис» завершила реконструкцию подстанции Северная в Липецке
GlobalElectroService JSC finished works on complex reconstruction and upgrade of 220 kilovolt Severnaya Electric Power Substation in Lipetsk. The customer of the site is Branch of FGC UES JSC (Federal Grid Company of Unified Energy System JSC) - Bulk Power Systems of the Center. The construction costs amount to more than 1.7 billion rubles.

220 kilovolt Severnaya EPS (Electric Power Substation) is one of the most significant electrical grid facilities of the Lipetsk Region electric power system. The substation provides electric power supply to three of the region’s administrative districts, ensures operation of new capacity of Novolipetsk Steel and enterprises of the Lipetsk special economic zone of Lipetsk industrial production type.

Specialists of GlobalElectroService constructed within the project framework a new 220 kilovolt electric power substation located near the functioning off-market sites built in the 1960-es. Such decision was explained by the fact that the reconstruction had to be performed without the load disconnection.

“Construction lasted 900 days from the agreement signing date and till the complete energizing of the electric power substation. All the local subcontracting organizations were engaged which enabled us to increase reliability and cut expenses which could have been incurred due to attraction of foreign employees” said Eldar Nagaplov, General Director of GlobalElectroService JSC.

Three-phase autotransformers with the capacity of 250 MVA were installed instead of two functioning 180 MVA autotransformers at the station, two schemes of 220 and 110 kilovolt outdoor switchgears were also upgraded. At present 220 kilovolt Severnaya EPS is equipped with cutting-edge electrical equipment, digital systems of relay protection and automatic equipment which enables Severnaya Electric Power Substation to become a highly reliable and low-maintenance site of the new generation. The installed equipment will operate 24 hours a day in a continuous mode for not less than 30 years.
